OUR STORY
Hi, we're Dr. Ray Hardy & Krissy Hardy, founders of Bright Eyes Bright Future. Dr. Hardy spends his days at Summit Family Eyecare in Bend, OR and Krissy works behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. Over the last decade we have gained an awareness of the vast lack of basic eye care throughout the world. In searching for a way to fill this need Bright Eyes, Bright Future was born. The first clinics were held in Peru in 2018 and we were hooked! It's incredibly fulfilling to watch someone smile as they see the world clearly through their first pair of glasses.
Since then we have continued to visit locations where our services are needed. The clinics are always free, and they are only possible because of donors and volunteers. We have been supported by optometrists who all happen to be fellow graduates of The Ohio State University, College of Optometry. We are incredibly grateful to those who help make this work possible. In addition to international clinics, we want to support children in our own communities. Volunteers of all ages have joined the clinics and made an impact. Volunteer opportunities for teens can impact their own lives as well as those they serve. As we grow so will the opportunities to serve. Follow us and join in on the journey!
